Shophouse fire in Cempaka Mas complex, Central Jakarta: cause under investigation

The object on fire was a shophouse,” said the Command Center of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Thursday (June 4, 2026).

The fire was reported by residents who arrived at the fire station at 05:26 WIB this morning. The shophouse that caught fire is located on Jalan Mega Grosir, ITC Cempaka Mas complex, Block J 7-8, RW 008, Sumur Batu Village, Kemayoran District.

The extinguishing operation began at 05:33 WIB and the fire was brought under control to prevent it from spreading at 05:50 WIB. The extinguishing operation continued with the cooling process starting at 06:20 WIB.

Officers continued by spraying water on the remaining embers while clearing materials inside the building to ensure the fire was completely extinguished about 40 minutes later, or at 07:00 WIB, the extinguishing operation was declared complete, meaning the fire had been completely extinguished.

A total of 14 fire trucks and 70 personnel were deployed to the scene of the fire. There were no casualties in this fire incident.

“The suspected cause is under investigation,” he said.
