Shopee Pours Additional Support for Sellers of Local Products
Shopee Indonesia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of local businesses through the launch of the Local Business Acceleration Voucher, which becomes available on Sunday (17/5/2026). This programme is aimed at helping to increase the exposure and sales of shops providing 100% local products on the Shopee platform.
The programme forms part of various Shopee initiatives to bolster the local business ecosystem, including the Local Shopping Day campaign and the Shopee Pilih Lokal channel. From January to May 2026, Shopee recorded that it has poured support for local businesses amounting to Rp100 billion.
Shopee’s Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Radynal Nataprawira, stated that consistent promotional support is deemed essential for maintaining the competitiveness of local businesses amid the increasingly rapid growth of the digital economy.
“We see that promotional support in the form of vouchers provides a tangible impact in helping to increase consumer buying interest and expand transaction opportunities. Building on that effectiveness, Shopee is introducing the Local Business Acceleration Voucher as an additional form of support for Sellers with 100% local products so that they can develop more sustainably,” said Radynal.
Through this programme, eligible sellers will receive promotional vouchers that can be utilised to attract buyer interest when transacting in their shops. These vouchers will also be provided periodically to help enhance the appeal of local products and drive sustainable sales growth.
Shopee states that voucher-based promotional support has proven effective in improving the performance of local sellers on the platform. Throughout 2025, the Local Shopping Day campaign is said to have helped local sellers increase sales by up to twice through various promotional vouchers.
Meanwhile, the Shopee Pilih Lokal channel is also said to have helped sellers record a 40% increase in revenue in 2025 through various special promotions for local products.
“Our internal data shows that promotional support and subsidies from the platform become one of the key stimuli for maintaining the competitiveness of local businesses and driving sustainable transaction growth in the digital ecosystem. Through this support, we want to ensure that local products are not only present in the digital ecosystem but are also able to become the primary choice for Indonesian society and have increasingly strong competitiveness in the digital era,” said Radynal.
Shopee considers promotional support as one of the important strategies to help local products compete amid the high competition among sellers on the marketplace platform. In addition to increasing product exposure, promotional programmes are also seen as able to accelerate consumer purchasing decisions in the digital ecosystem.
