Jakarta (ANTARA) - Shopee has partnered with Forum Lingkar Pena to organise a workshop for 100 young writers from various regions to support the creation of new works and enhance understanding of copyright protection in the digital era.

“We believe that every writer possesses a unique writing style that serves as the primary strength of their work. Through this year’s Local Writers Festival, we constantly strive to provide opportunities for aspiring writers to learn, exchange ideas, and understand how to protect their work on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee,” said Satrya Pinandita, Head of Corporate Affairs at Shopee Indonesia, in an official statement on Monday.

The workshop, themed “Transform Ideas into Works: Writing Recipes for Today’s Readers and Protecting Works in the Digital Era,” was held in Jakarta on 16 May 2026 in commemoration of National Book Day. The event is part of the 2026 Local Writers Festival, a Shopee campaign designed to promote, support, and protect the original book works of local Indonesian authors.

The event featured mega best-selling author Khoirul Trian, who shared insights regarding the process of transforming ideas into finished works, including tips for achieving success within the book industry.

“I am delighted to be part of the 2026 Local Writers Festival. My thanks also go to Shopee for providing features that help protect my work and that of other local writers. I hope young writers become increasingly confident and remain enthusiastic about writing to turn ideas into meaningful works,” said Khoirul.

Shopee also highlighted copyright protection through its Brand IP Portal, which allows writers, copyright holders, and brand owners to report intellectual property infringements digitally.
