Shooting Victim Over Cannabis Debt in Cilincing Tests Negative for Drugs
JAKARTA – The head of Cilincing Police Sector, Senior Inspector Bobi Subasri, has confirmed that SH (23), the victim of a shooting over a cannabis purchase debt in Sukapura, Cilincing, North Jakarta, tested negative for narcotics.
“He tested negative when secured yesterday. According to his account, he last used cannabis in November 2025,” Subasri said when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday, 8 March 2026.
Nevertheless, Subasri could not confirm the exact date when SH last purchased cannabis from the alleged shooter, identified as F.
“I cannot determine when he last made a purchase,” he said, adding that police were still searching for F’s whereabouts.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening, 8 March 2026, when SH was shot by a group of individuals whilst buying fried rice on Jalan Tipar Cakung. The shooter, F, and his associates came to collect the debt.
“The perpetrators arrived on two motorcycles, four people in total,” Subasri explained.
According to Subasri, SH resisted the debt collectors, leading to a physical altercation. “After the confrontation and the perpetrator shot the victim with an airsoft gun,” he said.
Following the shooting, F was reportedly shouted at as a thief and beaten by local residents. “The perpetrator was collecting the debt emotionally, using the airsoft gun,” Subasri noted.
When police arrived at the scene, F had already been taken by residents to a hospital. The shooting left SH with injuries to his right leg, lower right back, and left knee.
Police are continuing their investigation into the debt circumstances that triggered the incident and the ownership of the airsoft weapon.
