Shooting meets KONI's target

MANILA: Frans Paul won the bronze in the men's modified
practical pistol shooting competition on Monday, fulfilling the
target of the National Sports Council (KONI) for these Games.

Frans compiled 855 points at PSC-PNSA Shooting Range, with
compatriot Anang Yulianto in seventh with 714.

Gold went to Thailand's Kasem Khamhaeng (860), followed by
Singapore's Chow Wei An (855), Antara news service reported..

Team manager Hendra Djaya was pleased with the medal, but said
the country's best chance of gold came with Bary Agustini Said in
the 10-meter air pistol event.

"We're clearly still below expecations for a gold, especially
as the host has changed a lot of the rules by using various
excuses," Hendra said. -- JP
