Shocking Confession by Former Bima Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro Regarding His Suitcase Full of Narcotics
Jakarta, VIVA – New facts have emerged in the narcotics case ensnaring former Bima City Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Didik Putra Kuncoro. Police have revealed that the narcotics found in AKBP Didik’s white suitcase were allegedly for personal consumption. The findings reinforce suspicions of narcotics abuse by the mid-ranking National Police officer.
Head of Sub-Directorate III of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at the Criminal Investigation Agency (Dittipid Narkoba Bareskrim) of the National Police, Senior Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap, confirmed that according to the suspect’s own admission, the illicit substances were not intended for distribution.
“For personal use — that is what was taken, obtained from the Kasat [unit head], for consumption,” Zulkarnain told reporters, as quoted on Monday, 16 February 2026.
The statement was corroborated by narcotics test results. Although initially declared negative during a urine test, hair analysis revealed a different picture.
“When we tested him [urine], he was negative. He, along with his wife and a female officer, were negative. However, the Professional and Security Division (Propam) conducted hair testing, which came back positive. As for the other two, the results are expected tonight,” he said.
The National Police also confirmed that there has been no indication thus far that the narcotics were intended for resale. “There is no indication [they were to be sold],” he said.
The Narcotics Crime Directorate of Bareskrim announced on Friday, 13 February, that AKBP Didik had been named a suspect in an alleged narcotics possession case. The investigation originated from the arrest of two domestic workers employed by the suspect, police officer Bripka IR and his wife AN, with 30.415 grammes of methamphetamine seized as evidence from their private residence.
Interrogation by the NTB Provincial Police Narcotics Directorate uncovered the involvement of AKP Malaungi (ML) in the network. Further examination by the NTB Provincial Police Professional and Security Division found AKP ML tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. A search of AKP ML’s office and official residence subsequently uncovered five packets of methamphetamine weighing 488.496 grammes.
It was from there that AKBP Didik’s involvement was detected. “Based on statements from AKP ML, there was involvement of AKBP DPK in the suspected narcotics abuse,” said Isir.
A joint team from the Internal Affairs Security Bureau of the National Police Professional and Security Division and the Narcotics Crime Directorate of Bareskrim subsequently conducted a search of AKBP DPK’s private residence in Tangerang on Wednesday, 11 February. At the location, investigators discovered 16.3 grammes of methamphetamine, 50 ecstasy tablets, 19 alprazolam tablets, 2 happy five tablets, and 5 grammes of ketamine.
An ethics hearing for the suspended Bima City Police Chief, AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro (DPK), is scheduled for Thursday, 19 February 2026, following his designation as a suspect in the alleged narcotics possession case.
