Shock Ruling: Judge Revokes Piche Kota's Suspect Status, Detention Declared Unlawful
The Atambua District Court (PN Atambua) has granted part of a pre-trial motion filed by Petrus Yohanes Debrito Armando Djaga Kota, alias Piche Kota.
In its ruling, the judge declared the suspect designation against Piche invalid and annulled by law.
According to the verdict listed in the Atambua District Court’s Case Tracking Information System (SIPP), the judge declared the Decree on the Designation of Suspect Number S.Tap/08/II/2026/Reskrim dated 19 February 2026, issued by investigators, invalid and annulled by law.
Not only that, the panel of judges also quashed all detention actions against Piche. The ruling covers the Detention Order Number SP.Han/03/III/2026/Reskrim dated 1 March 2026, the Extension of Detention Order Number SP.Han.Lanjutan/03-A/III/2026/Reskrim dated 10 March 2026, up to the Detention Extension Order Number SP.Panjang.Han/JPU/03-A/III/2026/Reskrim dated 16 March 2026.
In its considerations, the judge also stated that the respondents’ action in delaying the handling of the case without lawful reason — undue delay — against the petitioner was unlawful.
Consequently, all letters, decisions, administration and derivative legal actions relating to the suspect designation, detention and delay in handling Piche’s case were declared invalid and annulled by law.
The panel of judges further ordered the respondents to restore Piche’s rights in respect of his capabilities, position, as well as his dignity and standing, as they were before (restitutio in integrum).
Nevertheless, the judges did not grant all of the requests filed. In the verdict, the panel declared the pre-trial motion granted in part, with the remainder dismissed.
As previously reported, shocking news emerged from East Nusa Tenggara. Piche Kota, an alumnus Indonesian Idol 2025 singer, was named a suspect in an alleged molestation case involving a female high school student in Belu Regency.
The designation was made by the PPA Unit of the Belu Police Criminal Investigation Department following an investigation and case review. Piche Kota was not alone — he was named alongside two other men, Roy Mali and Rivan, bringing the total number of suspects in the case to three.
