SHOBAT Hosts Large-Scale Maulid Nabi Commemoration with 10,000 Attendees at GOR Ciracas

Sohib Bang Thamrin (SHOBAT) held a Grand Tabligh Akbar to commemorate the Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW at GOR Ciracas, East Jakarta, on Sunday (30/08/2026). Thousands of worshippers from various religious study groups (majelis taklim) crowded the venue, which adopted the theme ‘Make the Prophet a Role Model’.

KH Muhammad Thamrin, a prominent figure, preacher, and the initiator of the event, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the enthusiasm shown by the congregation. Approximately 10,000 participants were recorded attending the grand assembly.

“I am very grateful to all the worshippers present; may our intention to be here earn us rewards from Allah SWT and the intercession of Prophet Muhammad,” said the man affectionately known as Kyai Thamrin.

In addition to religious sermons and collective prayers, the event featured the distribution of various prizes to participants. These prizes were not only reserved for SHOBAT members but were also open to the general public in attendance.

“Our happiness here is the joy of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, and sharing gifts is also a kindness exemplified by the Prophet,” said Thamrin, who serves as a member of Commission D of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).

The programme also included prayers and supplications for those suffering from disasters, particularly in East Nusa Tenggara. Through SHOBAT, led by Muhammad Kholik, Thamrin has organised this grand assembly routinely for the past five years, consistently attracting thousands of worshippers.

The event was attended by several religious scholars and officials, including Habib Abdurrahman Assegaf, Habib Ali Assegaf, KH Slamet Ma’arif, and KH Zaenal Arifin.

Also present were various figures and officials, including the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, represented by the Head of the Bureau of Dikmental, Muhamad Matsani; the Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD and Chairman of the PKS Jakarta DPW, Suhud Alynudin, represented by the Chairman of the Ciracas DPC; the Secretary of the PKS East Jakarta DPD, Pujut Aries Wibowo; Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the PKS Faction, Anis Byarwati; Member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Fahira Idris; and the Chief of the Ciracas Police Sector.
