Ship Fire in Muara Baru, North Jakarta, 70 Firefighters Deployed

A ship fire was reported in Muara Baru, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Dozens of firefighters were deployed to the scene.

“The object on fire is a ship. Yes, in Muara Baru,” said Gatot Sulaeman, Head of Operations for the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-Department, on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

The fire was reported by residents to firefighters at 19:58 WIB. The burning ship is located on Jalan Tuna Raya, Muara Baru, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

A total of 14 fire engines and 70 personnel were deployed to the scene of the fire. The cause and chronology of the fire are not yet known.

The extinguishing process began at 20:03 WIB. The flames were successfully brought under control, eliminating the potential for the fire to spread to other objects.

Officers are currently carrying out a cooling process by spraying water to ensure the fire is completely extinguished.

“The situation is currently in the cooling process,” he said.

It is not yet known whether there are any casualties resulting from this fire.
