Shepherds die in accident

LEBAK, West Java: Two shepherd boys, Adi and Subana, died last
week after an overhang, under which they were taking shelter from
a downpour, collapsed and buried them alive.

The accident took place on Tuesday, the Antara news agency
reported. The local office of the Ministry of Social Services
will give the boys' families Rp 100,000 (US$ 44) each.

The office's spokesman, H. Gofar, admitted the sum was little
consolation for the deaths of the 8-year-old and 14-year-old
boys.

The boys lived in Cibeunyeur, Bojongmanik subdistrict. They
were looking after their ox with three other boys who managed to
