Shell V-Power Diesel at Rp 30,890 per Litre, Full Tank for Palisade Costs Over Rp 2 Million

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The resumption of operations at Shell Indonesia’s fuel stations, with the price of Shell V-Power Diesel now reaching Rp 30,890 per litre, has drawn attention to the rising operational costs for premium diesel vehicles. The price of diesel fuel has risen sharply in recent months. As of 4 May 2026, the price of non-subsidised fuels like Pertamina Dex has increased to Rp 27,900 per litre from the previous Rp 23,900 per litre. Looking further back, that price has surged significantly compared to before the April 2026 adjustment, when it was still at Rp 14,500 per litre. This premium SUV also has a substantial fuel tank capacity of 71 litres. With such a large tank capacity, the fuel price increase naturally causes a significant jump in the cost of a full fill-up. If filled completely with Shell V-Power Diesel at the latest price of Rp 30,890 per litre, the full tank cost reaches approximately Rp 2,193,190. Meanwhile, using Pertamina Dex at the latest price of Rp 27,900 per litre, the full tank cost for the Hyundai Palisade now stands at around Rp 1,980,900. With diesel fuel prices continuing to rise, owners of premium diesel SUVs must now prepare a larger operational budget compared to a few months ago, especially for vehicles with large tanks like the Hyundai Palisade.
