Shell petrol stations in Indonesia officially 100% acquired by SEFAS Group

SEFAS Group has agreed to acquire 100% of Shell’s public fuel filling station (SPBU) business in Indonesia, subject to regulatory approval and other customary conditions.

“As the largest Shell lubricant distributor in Indonesia, SEFAS is proud to take the next business step and support the future growth of Indonesia’s energy retail sector,” said SEFAS Group CEO Ricky Roesli in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to him, SEFAS Group will continue the process to acquire full ownership of the business, with completion of the transaction expected to take place this year.

He said the company’s top priority is to ensure a smooth transition process while maintaining safe and reliable operations.

“Local ownership provides a strong foundation for the next phase of business development. Our ambition is to build one of the most trusted and sustainable energy retail businesses in Indonesia, while supporting the country’s economic growth and evolving energy needs,” he said.

Meanwhile, President Director of Shell Indonesia Andri Pratiwa explained that SEFAS is a long-standing partner of Shell in Indonesia with a deep understanding of the local market.

“In addition, customer needs, as well as a strong established network to support the next phase of business growth,” he added.
