Shell Petrol Stations in Indonesia Acquired by SEFAS Group This Year

Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) operated by Shell in Indonesia have officially been acquired by SEFAS Group. The 100% acquisition remains subject to regulatory approval and other customary conditions.

“As the largest Shell lubricant distributor in Indonesia, SEFAS is proud to take the next business step and support the future growth of Indonesia’s energy retail sector,” said SEFAS Group CEO Ricky Roesli in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (19/8).

SEFAS Group will continue the process of acquiring full ownership of the business. The transaction is expected to be completed this year.

He explained that the company’s priority is to ensure a smooth transition process while maintaining safe and reliable operational activities.

Ricky said customers will continue to see the Shell brand in Indonesia through a brand licensing scheme. The same applies to customer service, partners and employees.

According to him, local ownership of Shell petrol stations in Indonesia provides a strong foundation for the next phase of business development.

“Our ambition is to build one of the most trusted and sustainable energy retail businesses in Indonesia, while supporting the country’s economic growth and its evolving energy needs,” he said.

President Director of Shell Indonesia Andri Pratiwa explained that SEFAS is a partner that has long worked with Shell in Indonesia. Therefore, the company has a deep understanding of the local market.
