The Shell petrol station business in Indonesia has been officially acquired 100% by SEFAS Group. The acquisition remains subject to regulatory approval and other customary conditions.
SEFAS Group CEO Ricky Roesli said the company will proceed with the process of acquiring full ownership of the business, with completion of the transaction expected to take place this year.
“As the largest Shell lubricant distributor in Indonesia, SEFAS is proud to take this next business step and support the future growth of Indonesia’s energy retail sector,” Ricky said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 August 2026.
He said the company’s top priority is ensuring a smooth transition process while maintaining safe and reliable operations.
Ricky said customers will continue to see the Shell brand in Indonesia through a brand licensing scheme, with continuity of service for customers, employees and partners.
“Local ownership provides a strong foundation for the next phase of business development. Our ambition is to build one of the most trusted and sustainable energy retail businesses in Indonesia, while supporting the country’s economic growth and evolving energy needs,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shell Indonesia President Director Andri Pratiwa explained that SEFAS is a long-standing partner of Shell in Indonesia with a deep understanding of the local market.
