REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Diesel fuel has returned to availability at Shell Indonesia petrol stations after experiencing shortages since early 2026, priced at Rp 30,890 per litre.

“Thank you for your patience in waiting. Shell V-Power Diesel is starting to become available again gradually at Shell petrol stations,” wrote Shell Indonesia management via its official Instagram account @shell_indonesia, quoted in Jakarta on Sunday (10/5/2026).

The price of diesel at Shell petrol stations has also surged, similar to other public fuel filling stations, in line with skyrocketing global oil prices due to the war between the United States (US)-Israel and Iran. The price of diesel at Shell petrol stations, which was previously Rp 14,620 per litre on 1 March 2026, has jumped to Rp 30,890 per litre.

Through its official website, Shell Indonesia announced that Shell V-Power Diesel is available in several areas of Jakarta, Tangerang, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, and Bandung. Meanwhile, Shell Super, Shell V-Power, and Shell V-Power Nitro+ fuels remain unavailable since early 2026.

Not only Shell is experiencing changes in fuel prices.

Pertamina also announced an update to fuel prices for several regions effective from 4 May 2026. Non-subsidised diesel and Pertamax Turbo fuels have increased in price, while the price of Pertamax remains the same.

Based on Pertamina’s official website quoted in Jakarta on Monday, Pertamina has adjusted its fuel prices. In the Jabodetabek region, the price of Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) fuel has risen to Rp 19,900 per litre from Rp 19,400 per litre in April 2026.

Pertamina Dex Series or diesel fuel in that region has also increased. The price of Dexlite (CN 51) has risen to Rp 26,000 per litre from Rp 23,600 per litre in April 2026.

Pertamina Dex (CN 53) has also risen to Rp 27,900 per litre from Rp 23,900 per litre previously.

Meanwhile, Pertamina is still holding the price of Pertamax (RON 92) at Rp 12,300 per litre, as well as Pertamax Green (RON 95) at Rp 12,900 per litre since March 2026, right before the war between the US-Israel and Iran. Assigned and subsidised fuel prices have also not changed, namely Pertalite at Rp 10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp 6,800 per litre.
