Shell announces diesel price drop to Rp21,340 per litre
Shell Indonesia management has announced that the price of gasoil fuel has fallen from Rp24,490 per litre in June to Rp21,340 per litre starting 1 July 2026. Through its official website, Shell Indonesia stated that Shell V-Power Diesel is available in several areas of Jakarta, Banten, West Java, and East Java. The price of gasoil at Shell petrol stations has moved in line with global oil prices, which have fluctuated due to the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. Shell’s gasoil price, which was originally Rp14,620 per litre on 1 March 2026, surged to Rp30,890 per litre in May, before dropping to Rp24,490 per litre in June, and falling again to Rp21,340 per litre from 1 July 2026. Meanwhile, Shell Super, Shell V-Power, and Shell V-Power Nitro+ fuels have not been available since the beginning of 2026. Shell is not alone in experiencing fuel price changes. PT Pertamina (Persero) has announced that prices for non-subsidised diesel fuels such as Pertamina Dex and Dexlite, as well as Pertamax Turbo, will fall starting 1 July 2026. In the Greater Jakarta area, the price of non-subsidised Pertamina Dex Series diesel has also decreased. The price of Dexlite (CN 51) fell to Rp19,700 per litre from Rp23,000 per litre in June 2026. Pertamina Dex (CN 53) also dropped to Rp21,150 per litre from the previous Rp24,800 per litre. A similar change occurred for Pertamax Turbo (RON 98), which fell to Rp19,300 per litre from Rp20,750 per litre in June 2026. The price of Pertamax (RON 92) remains at Rp16,250 per litre, as does Pertamax Green (RON 95) at Rp17,000 per litre. The increase for these two products occurred on 10 June 2026, several months after the government held fuel prices steady following the surge caused by the US-Israel war with Iran. The prices of assigned and subsidised fuels have not changed, with Pertalite at Rp10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp6,800 per litre.
