Sharp Surge: Shell Resumes Selling Diesel at Rp 30,890 Per Litre
Shell petrol stations are once again selling diesel fuel at Rp 30,890 per litre, after experiencing shortages since the beginning of 2026. “Thank you for your patience. Shell V-Power Diesel is gradually becoming available again at Shell petrol stations,” quoted from the official Instagram page @shell_indonesia on Sunday, 10 May 2026. The price of diesel at Shell stations has also surged, in line with other general fuel stations. This aligns with the skyrocketing global oil prices, triggered by the war between the United States (US)-Israel and Iran. The diesel price at Shell stations, which was previously Rp 14,620 per litre on 1 March 2026, has now jumped to Rp 30,890 per litre. Through its official website, Shell Indonesia announced that Shell V-Power Diesel is available in several regions such as Jakarta, Tangerang, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, and Bandung. Meanwhile, fuels such as Shell Super, Shell V-Power, and Shell V-Power Nitro+ have still not been available since the beginning of 2026. It is known that, besides Shell, Pertamina and several private petrol stations have previously experienced fuel price changes as well. PT Pertamina (Persero) announced updates to fuel prices for certain regions, effective from 4 May. For non-subsidised diesel and Pertamax Turbo, there have been increases recorded. Meanwhile, the Pertamax price remains unchanged. Based on Pertamina’s official website, the fuel price adjustment was carried out in several regions. For example, in the Jabodetabek area, the price of Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) fuel shows an increase to Rp 19,900 per litre from Rp 19,400 per litre in April 2026. Pertamina Dex Series or diesel-type fuel in that region has also experienced an increase. The price of Dexlite (CN 51) fuel has been recorded to rise to Rp 26,000 per litre, from Rp 23,600 per litre in April 2026. Pertamina Dex (CN 53) also rose to Rp 27,900 per litre from the previous Rp 23,900 per litre. Meanwhile, Pertamina is still holding the Pertamax (RON 92) price at Rp 12,300 per litre, as well as Pertamax Green (RON 95) at Rp 12,900 per litre since March, precisely before the war between the United States (US)-Israel and Iran.
