Shares slightly lower on JSX
JAKARTA (JP): Share prices closed a bit lower on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) yesterday in moderate trading after gaining ground for the previous two consecutive days.
The broad-based JSX Composite Index closed 0.15 points lower at 458.78 yesterday from 458.93 on Thursday, while the narrower- based GTDBS-50 Index slipped to 107.73 from 107.74.
Barito Pacific Timber led yesterday's trading with the transactions of 1.14 million shares closing Rp 75 higher at Rp 3,375 (US$1.56), followed by Indosat with 968,500 shares closing Rp 25 lower at Rp 7,925.
Top gainers were Mayora (up Rp 400), Indovest Bank (up Rp 300), Indosepamas (up Rp 250), Bumi Modern Hyatt (up Rp 250) and Lippo Bank (up 200).
Top losers included Surya Toto Indonesia (down Rp 700), Sumalindo Lestari Jaya (down Rp 300), Ever Shine Textile Industry (down Rp 300) and HM Sampoerna (down Rp 150).
Total trading volume rose to 29.0 million shares worth Rp 111.05 billion (US$51.18 million) yesterday from 27.66 million shares worth Rp 108.43 billion on Thursday.
Of the total trading volume, 8.87 million shares changed hands at Rp 33.90 billion on the regular market, 200,000 shares at Rp 560 million on the bloc sale board, 18.99 million shares at Rp 71.96 billion on the cross trading board, 953,000 shares at Rp 4.63 billion on the foreign board.
No transactions were recorded on the cash trading and the odd lot trading boards. (rid)
