Share prices on Jakarta Stock Exchange

JAKARTA (JP): Share prices on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX), which eroded by 17 points in the first three days of the week, continued declining yesterday.

The broad-based Composite Index fell six points to 487.10 yesterday from 494.32 on Wednesday.

The narrow-based GTDBS-50 Index declined to 116.38 from 118.10.

Total trading volume significantly dropped to 9.99 million shares worth Rp 52.07 billion (US$24.16 million) from 15.96 million shares valued at Rp 67.17 billion.

Yesterday's top losers included Voksel Electric (-Rp 1,050), Kalbe Farma (-Rp 500), Kurnia Kapuas Ugi (-Rp 475), Barito Pacific Timber (-Rp 400), Lippo Securities (-400) and United Tractors (-Rp 400), Bank Int'l Indonesia (-Rp 350) and Sekar Bumi (-Rp 350).

The best performers were Bank Bali (+Rp 400), Tiga Raksa (+Rp 300), Multi Bintang Indonesia (+Rp 200), Duta Pertiwi Nusantara, Hotel Prapatan (+Rp 150) and Tamara Bank (+Rp 125).

A total of 5.80 million shares changed hands at Rp 28.40 billion on the regular board yesterday, 3.86 million shares at Rp 22.50 billion on the crossing board and 325,500 shares at Rp 1.16 billion on the foreign board.

The block sale, odd lot and cash trading boards recorded no transactions yesterday. (fhp)
