Share prices fall further on JSX
JAKARTA (JP): Share prices on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) continued drifting lower yesterday in line with the downward trend on other Asian markets.
The broad-based Composite Index closed 5.98 points lower from 473.96 on Wednesday. The narrower-based GTDBS-50 Index also weakened to 111.12 from 111.79.
Losers included Modern Photo (down Rp 1,750), Schering Plough (down Rp 1,500), Sorini Corp. (down Rp 700), Kalbe Farma (down Rp 600), Alumindo Perkasa, Astra Int'l Inc. and Astra Graphia (down Rp 500 each), Bayer Indonesia (down Rp 400), Unggul Indah, Inter Pacific Bank, Dankos Laboratories and Bank Bali (down Rp 300 each).
Among the gainers were Sari Husada (up Rp 1,000), Indocement (up Rp 850), Tigaraksa and Polysindo Eka Perkasa (up Rp 500 each).
Trading volume sank to 10.9 million shares valued at Rp 63.34 billion (US$29.53 million) yesterday from 13.66 million shares valued at Rp 66.05 billion ($31.45 million) on Wednesday.
A total of 6.17 million shares valued at Rp 27.92 billion of the total volume changed hands on the regular market, 3.88 million shares worth Rp 26.94 million on the cross trading board and 848,500 million shares valued at Rp 8.47 million on the foreign board. The odd lot trading board recorded transactions of 100 shares worth of Rp 380,000.
No shares were traded on the bloc sale and cash trading boards yesterday.(icn)
