Shanghai Electric Showcases AI-Based Energy and Industry Integration at Hannover Messe 2026
Hannover, Germany, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) - Shanghai Electric (SEHK: 02727, SSE: 601727), a global company providing integrated solutions for the energy and industrial sectors, is participating in Hannover Messe 2026 with the theme “Interlocking Energy and Industry”. At this event, Shanghai Electric is showcasing green energy products, integrated energy solutions, and various AI-based industrial application scenarios.
Amid the acceleration of Europe’s energy transition and the surge in AI needs in the manufacturing sector, Shanghai Electric is opening up broader and deeper cooperation opportunities. To this end, Shanghai Electric is presenting four main exhibition zones, namely “AI for Industry”, “Zero-Carbon Parks”, “POWER to X”, and “IIoT Digital Foundation”. These four exhibition zones feature cross-scenario solutions and international project implementations that reflect Shanghai Electric’s strengths in promoting industrial chain synergies in its two main sectors: energy and industry.
Digital and AI integration: a new blueprint for industrial transformation
In the “AI for Industry” zone, Shanghai Electric is introducing the “StarCloud Intelligent Manufacturing” series, which includes nearly 40 AI models and intelligent agents. This solution covers three main stages in the manufacturing process—research and design, production, and operational and maintenance activities—to drive industrial transformation towards smarter systems.
The “Mobile Factory” product is one of the highlights at this event. Based on modular equipment in containers equipped with digital twin and AI technology, the system supports remote maintenance and intelligent scheduling. The “Mobile Factory” has been used in various projects in overseas markets, including in South Korea, Indonesia, and Bangladesh, for maintenance and emergency repair needs.
In addition, Shanghai Electric has independently developed an Industrial Internet platform to provide digital transformation solutions for factories in 13 industrial sectors, including energy and manufacturing. More than 460,000 devices have been connected to this platform.
Shanghai Electric is also showcasing the bipedal humanoid robot named “Suyuan” for the first time on the global stage. This robot is equipped with an intelligent control system and high-performance joints developed independently by Shanghai Electric. The robot is capable of operating in complex industrial environments and enhancing manufacturing efficiency.
Green energy: a new standard for zero-carbon industrial zones
With the “Energy + Industry” synergy, Shanghai Electric has developed replicable zero-carbon industrial zone solutions. The company also provides integrated services, from the planning stage to operations, supported by in-house products covering more than half of the core equipment needs, such as wind power plants (PLTB), solar power plants (PLTS), energy storage, hydrogen, microgrids, and multi-energy integration systems.
In the “Zero-Carbon Parks” zone, Shanghai Electric is presenting various green technology innovations, including:
Wind Power: The 25 MW offshore turbine is one of the flagship products. Shanghai Electric has supplied equipment and operational and maintenance services for various global projects, including the Senj Wind Farm in Croatia, one of the largest wind power projects in Central and Eastern Europe.
Solar Power: With cutting-edge HJT photovoltaic technology and comprehensive supply chain capabilities for thermal solar power equipment, Shanghai Electric is presenting innovations such as integrated power generation systems that include PLTS and energy storage.
Energy Storage: The vanadium redox flow battery system based on aqueous electrolyte is one of the flagship solutions for large-scale, long-duration energy storage.
Promoting the development of green hydrogen and eco-friendly fuels
Supported by strengths in new energy, smart power grids, and green chemistry, Shanghai Electric has developed core technologies covering the entire green fuel value chain. Shanghai Electric also offers integrated solutions from upstream to downstream for three main types of fuels, namely green methanol, green ammonia, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), tailored to resource conditions and market needs.
One flagship project is the Taonan project in Jilin Province, China, the country’s first green methanol pilot project, which has obtained full EU ISCC certification. In March 2026, the first batch of green methanol products from this project was successfully used as fuel for the CMA CGM “OSMIUM” ship at Yangshan Port, Shanghai.
