Shadow Cabinet to Issue Report Card Assessing Prabowo's Performance

State Secretary of the Shadow Cabinet Feri Amsari announced the group’s plan to create a performance report evaluating President Prabowo Subianto’s administration at the three-year mark. The report will offer a perspective on checks and balances, supported by data and evidence. “Hopefully, they will be spurred and become aware, and carry out better activities for public service,” Feri said during a press conference in Central Jakarta on Monday, 27 July 2026. In addition to the report, the Shadow Cabinet intends to collect public funds to implement programmes the government has failed to deliver, such as building access roads. “Take the viral example of a school where students and teachers had to cross a river; we will think about how to build something using public funds,” said the constitutional law expert from Andalas University. He added that the group would also assist villages with poor healthcare services using the same crowdfunding model, with all use of funds to be reported transparently. The Shadow Cabinet also plans to open dialogues with various parties and tour regions, particularly university campuses, to discuss programmes the state should undertake. Feri stated that the people are the president of the Shadow Cabinet, and the group will fight for constitutional rights not fulfilled by the state. He argued the cabinet was formed in response to a chaotic presidential system, citing instances where a deputy house speaker reported to the executive and ministers reported to the deputy speaker. While acknowledging the official Prabowo administration, Feri asserted the group’s right to control the government. The shadow cabinet, comprising 15 ministerial positions filled by civil society figures, academics, and activists, was established as a response to the perceived loss of checks and balances, not to seize power. Feri noted the absence of a formal opposition to balance the majority coalition in the official cabinet, lamenting that competent individuals are hindered by political interests. He stressed the initiative is voluntary, pro bono, and free from political party support.
