Jakarta (ANTARA) - Swiss German University (SGU) is strengthening the alignment (link and match) between higher education and industry needs through collaboration with the media industry and digital ecosystem. Rector of Swiss German University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dipl-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, stated that this collaboration is an important step to ensure graduates have competencies relevant to the dynamics of the working world. “At Swiss German University, we believe that higher education must bridge academic needs with the ever-evolving dynamics of the working world,” Samuel said in Jakarta on Friday. He added that through this collaboration, students are encouraged to gain practical experience and strong employability even before completing their studies. One concrete step taken by SGU to strengthen this alignment is partnering with B-Universe. The cooperation between the two parties encompasses various programmes under the framework of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, ranging from internships and industry training, research and development in information technology and digital fields, to guest lecturer programmes and joint seminars. This step also aligns with the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar policy, which encourages student involvement in learning activities outside the classroom through direct industry experiences. Meanwhile, Board of Patronage member of Swiss German University, Chris Kanter, views the synergy between universities and industry as key to building adaptive and innovative human resources. “Industry advancement requires adaptive, innovative human resources with practical experience. Therefore, synergy between universities and industry is very important,” said Chris.
