SGER Repays Rp273.64bn Bond, Strengthening Its Capital Structure
Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Sumber Global Energy Tbk (SGER) has repaid Rp273.64 billion in bonds using internal cash as part of efforts to meet its financial obligations and maintain market confidence in the company’s management of its capital structure.
SGER Corporate Secretary Michael Harold said repayment of the Series A Sustainable Bond I of PT Sumber Global Energy Tbk Phase II 2025 was made according to the scheduled date.
“The bond repayment is expected to strengthen market confidence in SGER’s ability to manage its capital structure and meet its financial obligations,” Michael said in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
He explained that proceeds from the bond issuance had been used for working capital, particularly to procure coal and pay suppliers for coal purchases in line with the company’s business activities.
SGER issued Phase II 2025 of its Sustainable Bond I in two series. Series A was worth Rp273.64 billion, carried a fixed annual interest rate of 10 per cent and had a tenor of 370 days. Series B was worth Rp9.46 billion, carried a fixed annual interest rate of 10.75 per cent and matures on 15 October 2027.
In terms of business performance, SGER recorded revenue of Rp4.32 trillion through the second half of 2026, up 6.73 per cent year on year from Rp4.05 trillion in the same period a year earlier.
Revenue came primarily from coal, at Rp3.16 trillion, followed by sand and limestone revenue of Rp495.16 billion, petroleum coke revenue of Rp379 billion, and nickel revenue of Rp284.29 billion.
Alongside revenue growth, the company recorded net profit of Rp137.95 billion, an 8.83 per cent increase year on year compared with the same period a year earlier.
In addition to strengthening its existing business, SGER is seeking to broaden its revenue sources by diversifying beyond coal trading.
Michael said the company had built a hydrogen peroxide plant in Merak, Banten, through its subsidiary PT Hidrogen Peroxida Indonesia (HPI). The plant has production capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes a year at 100 per cent concentration, or 40,000 metric tonnes a year at 50 per cent concentration.
According to the company, this makes HPI’s plant one of Indonesia’s largest hydrogen peroxide production facilities and the country’s second-largest.
Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) is considered a more environmentally friendly chemical for a range of industrial applications. It is used in several sectors, including pulp and paper, textiles and mining.
Michael said he hoped the plant’s operation would broaden the company’s business portfolio and become a new source of revenue in the future.
“With favourable industry prospects, the plant’s operations can certainly become a new source of revenue for SGER in the future,” Michael said.
