Sixteen students from the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia (FHUI) are suspected of committing sexual violence within the campus environment. The victims of this sexual violence are not only from the student body but also include lecturers. The victims’ lawyer, Timotius Rajagukguk, revealed that there are currently 20 students whom he represents. In addition, there are seven female lecturers who have also become victims of verbal sexual violence perpetrated by the suspects. “The victims I represent number 20. That’s just the ones I represent, all students. From the lecturer side, the last I heard there are seven,” he said at Pusgiwa UI on Tuesday (14/4/2026). He suspects that the number of sexual violence victims is still much higher. In fact, several victims are not yet aware that they have been harassed by the perpetrators. “There are still many other victims who might not even know they were talked about in that way,” he said. Therefore, Timotius demands that the campus authorities impose strict sanctions in the form of permanent dismissal or dropout (DO) on the perpetrators. This is because the actions of the perpetrators have been highly disturbing. “Dropout is a sanction given when a student is deemed no longer fit to study there. There are many reasons: they cannot provide a sense of safety, they are dangerous to other students, they can damage the university’s values. I think all those elements have been fulfilled,” he said.
