Sexual misconduct case at Pekalongan Islamic boarding school exposes secret pregnancy of female student outside marriage
The sexual misconduct case involving the leader and caretaker of an Islamic boarding school (ponpes) in Simbang Kulon Village, Buaran Subdistrict, Pekalongan, uncovered on Wednesday 27 May, has revealed that a woman, referred to as F, who claimed to be a virgin, became pregnant and gave birth. The arrest of AKF, the leader and caretaker of the Islamic boarding school in Simbang Kulon Village, Buaran Subdistrict, Pekalongan, on Wednesday 27 May, further exposed allegations of sexual misconduct against dozens of female students, revealing a pattern of abuse and intimidation. The case of female student F, 22, a resident of Kedungkebo Village, Karangdadap Subdistrict, Pekalongan Regency, who previously claimed to be a virgin and had never had sexual relations with any man, but became pregnant and gave birth to a boy in December 2025, has also come to light, with suspicions of a connection to the sexual misconduct case at the ponpes. Initially, victim F, a female student at a ponpes in Buaran, caused a stir in her community upon returning. The unmarried student, who had not engaged in sexual relations with any man, was found to be pregnant since September 2025 and gave birth to a boy, now adopted by residents of Banjarnegara. F’s parents claimed to accept the pregnancy as fate and did not question it, with F herself still insisting she had never dated or had sexual relations with any man, even claiming the pregnancy resulted from a dream involving an unnamed man. ‘I have accepted the pregnancy and childbirth of my child as fate; now we only seek peace despite F’s emotional distress,’ said Slamet, F’s father. Despite widespread skepticism, Slamet stated the family has chosen not to dwell on the ongoing controversy. ‘We are convinced this is how it happened. Others may not believe it, but we accept it as Allah’s will. What matters now is our child’s peace of mind,’ he added. The testimonies of Slamet and F have prolonged the controversy surrounding the student’s pregnancy, leading to the exposure of the sexual misconduct case at the Islamic boarding school in Simbang Kulon Village, Buaran Subdistrict, Pekalongan, where the leader and caretaker, identified as AKF, 54, is now under investigation for links to F’s pregnancy. Police spokesperson Ipda Warsito of Pekalongan Regency Police stated that in the case of F’s pregnancy and childbirth, the police are only providing support and focusing on psychological recovery for the victim and her family, as the incident occurred outside Pekalongan Regency, hence the investigation is handled by Pekalongan City Police. According to Warsito, F was boarding and studying at Ponpes AP in Buaran Subdistrict, Pekalongan City, but suddenly returned home in September due to pregnancy and gave birth to a boy in December 2025, sparking community discussion, especially as F claims to have had no sexual relations with any man. Meanwhile, Dr Imaamah Muqodassah, the doctor who attended F’s delivery, revealed that the patient arrived at her clinic on the night of 13 December 2025 ready to give birth, delivering a healthy baby boy weighing 2.9 kilograms with normal physical condition. ‘The patient was 39 weeks pregnant, and this was her first delivery with no history of miscarriage,’ said Dr Imaamah Muqodassah. However, the clinic staff were surprised during data collection, according to Dr Imaamah Muqodassah, as they only learned of the patient’s pregnancy background after delivery, when her family stated F was unmarried and claimed she had never engaged in sexual intercourse.
