The Directorate General of Immigration under the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services has not received any request from law enforcement to blacklist Syekh Ahmad Al Misry, or SAM, the suspect in an alleged sexual harassment case.

“Up to now, the Directorate General of Immigration has not received any request for an exit ban from any law enforcement agency,” said Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday.

Regarding Syekh Ahmad Al Misry’s whereabouts, he stated that based on APK 4 crossing data, the individual is recorded as still being abroad.

APK 4.0, or the version 4.0 immigration crossing application, is a digital system developed by the Directorate General of Immigration to process passenger crossing data at immigration checkpoints (TPI) such as international airports.

He mentioned that Syekh Ahmad Al Misry departed Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on 15 March 2026.

“And to date, he has not returned to Indonesian territory,” Hendarsam said.

Separately, the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has designated Syekh Ahmad Al Misry, or SAM, as a suspect in the alleged sexual harassment case.

Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated that the suspect designation was made after investigators from the Directorate of Crimes Against Women and Children and the Eradication of Human Trafficking (PPA and PPO) conducted a case review.

A series of investigations have also been carried out to provide protection for the victims.

It is known that Syekh Ahmad Al Misry was reported to Bareskrim Polri in November 2025 for the alleged sexual harassment of five male students.

The victims’ legal representative, Achmad Cholidin, said that the acts allegedly committed by SAM have caused severe trauma to the victims. Moreover, there are allegations of intimidation by SAM or his representatives to withdraw the case from the police, including suspected bribery attempts against the victims.

Meanwhile, Ustadz Abi Makki, as a witness, stated that in 2021, SAM had allegedly harassed his students.

He said that the victims, along with student teachers and religious figures, conducted tabayyun, after which SAM issued an apology and promised not to engage in alleged same-sex sexual harassment acts.
