Sextathlon marks TNI anniversary

JAKARTA: Fitness enthusiasts are challenged to test their physical endurance in the Dji Sam Soe Arena, a sporting competition that combines hiking, climbing, cycling, canoeing, swimming and running, according to a press release.

The one-day competition, which will be one of the highlights of the Indonesian Military (TNI) anniversary on Oct. 5, will take place in Bogor, West Java.

"Dji Sam Soe Arena is a medium for young Indonesians to show their ability in dealing with nature - water and land - through teamwork," Aditya Jani, from the organizing committee, said in the release here on Friday.

The participants will begin their challenge with a hike followed by climbing up the hills of Mount Salak, cycling, canoeing, swimming, and finally running a 10-kilometer race. -- JP
