Sex a boost for marathon runners
Sex a boost for marathon runners
LONDON (DPA): London Marathon competitors who enjoy a night of
passion on the eve of the event clock faster times for the race
than those who do not, media reports said on Wednesday.
Runners who had sex on the eve of last year's marathon
completed the 26.2-mile course in an average of 3 hours and 51
minutes while those who did not finished in 3 hours and 56
minutes.
Researchers from the Oxford-based Social Issues Research
Center found that 20 percent of men and 16 percent of women
claimed that a last-minute lovemaking session had helped them to
increase their times.
They also found that 30 percent of competitors believed that
marathon running improved their performance in bed.
