Severe traffic congestion on Cilincing-Cakung route as police identify cause

Traffic congestion was reported on Monday, 25 May 2026, at 8:31 PM WIB, according to TMC Polda Metro Jaya’s official X account. The congestion was centred around the Kebon Baru traffic light heading towards Cakung.

“Good evening, commander, permission to report: traffic from Kebon Baru heading south or Cakung has come to a standstill,” reported a police officer on duty at 8:36 PM WIB.

Police then investigated the cause of the congestion on Jalan Semper Timur and surrounding areas. It turned out that a container had stopped in the leftmost lane.

Subsequently, the police instructed the container to move away from the location. After that, traffic in the area flowed smoothly.

“Good evening, commander: the container blocking the left lane has been directed to move; the area behind is clear, just need to get moving – traffic is now flowing smoothly to Cakung across all three lanes,” the police officer reported again.
