Several Witnesses in Fatal KRL vs Argo Bromo Train Crash Case Request Examination Postponement, Including Green SM Party

Jakarta, VIVA – The handling of the fatal accident case between the KRL and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train at Bekasi Timur Station is still ongoing. Amid the increasingly in-depth investigation process, the police have rescheduled the examination of several important parties.

One of them is the Green SM taxi party, which was previously scheduled to be examined today. However, that agenda has been postponed. The Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, confirmed the schedule change.

“It has been postponed until Tuesday, 5 May 2026,” he told reporters on Monday, 4 May 2026.

Not only the taxi party, but the examinations of supervisory officers to signal and telecommunications staff have also been shifted. They will only be asked for statements on Friday, 8 May 2026.

Nevertheless, the investigation process does not stop. Several agencies are still present to fulfil the investigators’ call, from the Bekasi City Road Infrastructure Agency, Bekasi City Public Works Agency, Bekasi City Spatial Planning Agency, to the Directorate General of Land Transportation.

Meanwhile, the Green SM taxi driver and the gate witness were examined first at a different location, namely at Polres Metro Bekasi Kota.

“They have already appeared and are in the examination process at Polres Metro Bekasi Kota, the taxi driver and the gate witness,” he said.

The police are also collaborating with the forensic laboratory team to strengthen the evidence in this case, particularly in unravelling the chain of fatal events.

“Together with Labfor, activities are being carried out to document objects related to this case,” he stated.

Previously reported, the handling of the fatal accident case between the Electric Rail Train (KRL) and the Long-Distance Train (KA) Argo Bromo at Bekasi Timur Station continues to progress. Polda Metro Jaya ensures that the legal process has now escalated to the investigation stage.

The Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, said that the case is currently being handled by the Subdirektorat Keamanan Negara (Subdit Kamneg) of Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya.

“Regarding the update on the train accident case at Bekasi Timur Station, this is being handled in the investigation and prosecution process, handled by Subdit Kamneg Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya. And this has been elevated to the investigation stage,” said Budi on Thursday, 30 April 2026.
