Several Trains Rerouted Through Daop 2 Bandung Region Due to Disruption in Bumiayu
A disruption to the Bangunkarta train journey at Bumiayu Station in Brebes Regency, Central Java, has impacted the West Java region. PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung has had to adjust its train operation patterns to ensure the safety and smoothness of train journeys. As a precautionary measure, KAI has implemented operational engineering by rerouting several long-distance train services to loop through the Daop 2 Bandung territory. This policy is taken as a form of KAI’s commitment to maintaining train journey safety and minimising potential delays to more trains. The trains scheduled to loop through the Daop 2 Bandung territory via the Kroya-Bandung-Cikampek line as part of the implemented operational engineering include: 1. KA Argo Semeru (5) route Surabaya Gubeng – Gambir. 2. KA Gaya Baru Malam Selatan (89) route Surabaya Gubeng – Pasarsenen. 3. KA Progo (257) route Lempuyangan – Pasarsenen. 4. KA Senja Utama Yogyakarta (107) route Yogyakarta - Pasarsenen. 5. KA Senja Utama Yogyakarta (108) route Pasarsenen - Lempuyangan. Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo, stated that this route diversion is carried out to guarantee train journey safety and to reduce train journey delays as a form of service to customers. “KAI places safety as the top priority in every train operation. This route diversion is a strategic step to ensure journeys continue safely even though disruptions occur on other lines,” he added. He revealed that KAI Daop 2 Bandung has prepared all operational aspects, including infrastructure readiness, facilities, and field personnel to support the smooth running of the rerouted trains. “We are striving for all trains passing through the Daop 2 Bandung territory to run smoothly and safely. Intensive coordination is also continuously carried out with all related parties to anticipate potential longer delays,” he added. KAI also urges all customers to continue paying attention to the latest information regarding train journeys and the current conditions at the disruption site only through KAI’s official channels.
