Several Traffic Points in Puncak Bogor Congested During This Long Weekend Holiday
Several points along the Puncak highway in Bogor, West Java, are experiencing heavy traffic during this long weekend holiday. The congestion occurs from the Megamendung sub-district to Cisarua.
“There are three points of congestion, which are the same as before, namely Pasar Cisarua, Megamendung, and Pasar Pasir Muncang,” said the Head of Traffic at the Bogor Police, Iptu Afif Ananto, on Saturday (16/5/2026).
Afif said that today, as many as 18,000 vehicles passed through the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Puncak. This number is down 18% compared to two days ago.
“Compared to the first day of the long weekend on Thursday, this number has decreased by 18%. Therefore, we can conclude that the peak of tourist traffic during this long weekend occurred on Thursday,” he said.
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles heading down from Puncak towards Jakarta is 13,000. This number has increased compared to last Thursday.
“This is an increase of 26% compared to Thursday. This means that people who have been on vacation since Thursday are now starting to return to Jakarta,” he said.
For traffic management tomorrow, it will be implemented situationally, depending on the volume of vehicles. However, a one-way system is still being prepared.
“Tomorrow morning, we will implement traffic management situationally, depending on the volume of traffic. However, we will focus on vehicles that will complete their long weekend holiday, namely the downward flow. It is likely to be implemented at 12:00 PM,” he concluded.
