Several Tanah Abang-Parung Panjang KRL Trips Cancelled Due to Power Disruption
Several KRL Commuter Line trips on the Parung Panjang-Tanah Abang route were cancelled on Monday (4/5/2026) evening due to disruptions in the electrical system and track conditions. KAI Commuter announced the cancellation of several trips via its X account @commuterline at 19:43 WIB, including those listed. Previously, KRL services on this route had also been disrupted due to issues with the Overhead Catenary System (OCS). KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager, Leza Arlan, explained that the disruption was triggered by a spark on the OCS pole, necessitating a temporary shutdown of the power supply. “For the safety of Commuter Line operations and the OCS network, the power supply has been temporarily turned off,” he stated in a written release. As a result, KRL trips on the Pondok Ranji-Sudimara section could not proceed since around 16:30 WIB. To mitigate the impact of the disruption, KAI Commuter implemented temporary operational adjustments. Trips from Rangkasbitung or Parung Panjang were only able to reach Serpong Station, while those from Tanah Abang were limited to Kebayoran Station. Officers are still handling the situation on site to restore KRL operations. Passengers crowded the station areas, both on the first and second floors, while awaiting departure updates. Density was also reported in the areas leading to the Green Line platform. One passenger, Putri (54), said she had been waiting for more than two hours to return home to Cisauk. “I’ve been waiting for over two hours. They say there’s a disruption due to a lightning strike and also water pooling,” she said. She chose to wait while informing her family at home. KAI Commuter advised users to adjust their travel plans and follow on-site officer instructions. The company also expressed apologies for the disruption. As of Monday evening, repair efforts continue to restore normal KRL operations.
