A number of shop houses (ruko) in Mustikajaya, Bekasi City, West Java, suffered damage after part of the structure collapsed. The incident occurred on Jalan Mutiara Gading Timur, Mustikajaya District, Bekasi City, at around 2.30 pm local time. One person was reported injured after being struck by debris from the collapsed building.

Fire and rescue personnel were deployed to the scene to carry out emergency response. The victim had already been taken to a health facility for medical treatment before officers could gather further details. “Our personnel did not obtain the victim’s data, as the victim had already been transported by ambulance,” said Rahmat, Rescue Platoon Commander of the Bekasi City Fire and Rescue Service, on Friday (21/8/2026).

Video footage circulating on social media showed damage to several sections of the row of shop houses, with debris scattered on the floor and cracked walls and chunks of concrete visible. Around six shop houses selling groceries and food were affected by the collapse, and a trader at the location was injured by falling debris.

“There was one victim, who was successfully evacuated with assistance from the community health centre near Mustikajaya Sector. By the time the rescue team arrived, the victim had already been taken by ambulance,” said Heri Kurnianto, Head of Operations Control for the Bekasi City Fire and Rescue Service, in a separate confirmation.

No further details were available regarding the total number of damaged shop houses, nor the chronology and cause of the collapse.
