Several Officials, Including Deputy Speaker Dasco, Will Not Hold Open Houses

The Palace has issued a circular to all officials instructing them not to hold excessive Eid 2026 open houses. Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad is among the officials who will not hold an open house. The announcement regarding the circular prohibiting excessive open houses was delivered by Cabinet Secretary Prasetyo Hadi on Tuesday (17/3) some time ago. Information received indicates that Dasco is one of the officials who will not hold an open house in accordance with the government circular. Sources also mentioned that several officials in President Prabowo Subianto’s administration will not hold open houses. President Prabowo Subianto is known to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh. Prabowo, on Friday (20/3/2026), flew to Medan, North Sumatra, to attend takbiran night in the area. Sufmi Dasco Ahmad was one of the officials who saw off President Prabowo’s departure that afternoon. Previously, Dasco also accompanied President Prabowo when receiving the 5th President of Indonesia and PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and House Speaker Puan Maharani at the Palace on Thursday (19/3). Earlier, Prasetyo Hadi stated that the background of this circular is that many people are still not in good economic condition. Therefore, officials are asked to be more sensitive and maintain social empathy in celebrating the holiday momentum. “So we urge not to be too excessive when organising open house or halal bihalal activities,” said Prasetyo.
