Several National Figures Receive Awards from Unissula
Semarang (ANTARA) - Several national figures have received awards from the Faculty of Law, Sultan Agung Islamic University (Unissula) Semarang, in recognition of their contributions to the fields of law, governance, and national security. The awards were presented alongside the 63rd anniversary celebrations of the Unissula Faculty of Law, held under the theme ‘Global Connection, Endless Innovation’ in Semarang on Saturday.
The award recipients included Constitutional Court Judge Prof. Dr. Adies Kadir, who received ‘The Guardian of Constitutional Integrity’, and Prof. Dr. Rivan Achament Purwantono, President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, who was honoured with ‘The Strategic Leader of National Impact’. Additionally, Prof. Rudi Margono, Junior Attorney General for Supervision at the Attorney General’s Office, received ‘The Pillar of Legal Accountability’. Other honorees included Prof. Yanto, Chairman of the Supervisory Chamber of the Supreme Court, awarded ‘The Vanguard Supreme of Justice’, and Deputy Chief of National Police Komjen Pol. Prof. Dedi Prasetyo, who received ‘The Visionary Leader of National Security’.
The Dean of the Unissula Faculty of Law, Prof. Jawade Hafidz, explained that the faculty also launched a handbook titled ‘Islamic Worldview and Law Study’ and a compilation of scientific orations by Unissula Law professors. The ‘Islamic Worldview’ handbook integrates Islamic values with legal science and is published in three languages: Indonesian, English, and Arabic.
‘This handbook serves as an identity for the Unissula Faculty of Law in conducting legal education based on Islamic values,’ he stated. He noted that because law is often understood purely through a normative lens without Islamic perspectives, the book was developed as a guide for lecturers in preparing teaching materials for students. Beyond internal use, the book will also serve as a souvenir for domestic and international universities visiting the faculty.
He added that the use of three languages aligns with the faculty’s international cooperation goals, particularly with English and Arabic-speaking nations. Currently, Unissula is actively strengthening its internationalisation programme through partnerships with law faculties worldwide. ‘We have established international cooperation with universities across Asia, Australia, Europe, America, and Africa. We have successfully established active partnerships across four continents,’ he said. These collaborations include visiting professor programmes, lecturer and professor exchanges, student mobility, and the development of double-degree programmes. Partner institutions include Al-Azhar University in Egypt, and universities in Jordan, Turkey, Thailand, Sweden, Australia, Japan (Nagoya University), and South Korea. ‘Foreign students will study with us for periods ranging from one semester to one year, and our students will also have opportunities to study abroad,’ he concluded.
