Several Ministers and Regional Heads Attend PSBM XXVI 2026 in Makassar
Makassar (ANTARA) - Several ministers, deputy ministers, as well as governors, bupatis, and mayors attended the opening of the 26th Bugis Makassar Merchant Meeting (PSBM) 2026 in Makassar on Thursday. They included Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar, Deputy Minister for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Veronica Tan, and Deputy Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla. In addition, several regional heads were present, including the Governors of South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, North Maluku, South Papua, East Kalimantan, and North Kalimantan. Luwu Regent Patahudding from South Sulawesi stated that forums like PSBM are very important for opening investment opportunities and expanding business networks, which can directly impact improvements in community welfare. “This meeting serves as a strategic platform to strengthen collaboration between merchants and the government in driving regional economic growth,” said Patahudding. He hopes that through this event, regional potentials can become more widely known and attract investor interest to contribute to development in Luwu Regency. PSBM XXVI 2026 adopts the theme “Resilient Merchants, Growing Economy”, which serves as a strategic momentum to strengthen ties while enhancing collaboration among business actors, government, and other stakeholders.
