Several Jakarta Roads Closed During Merdeka Run, Here Is the List
A number of roads in Jakarta were closed during the Merdeka Run 2026 this morning. The closures were in effect until 8 a.m. local time.
“The closure and traffic diversion began at 4 a.m. and will last until 8 a.m. local time,” said Director of Traffic of Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Firman Darmansyah, to reporters on Friday (28/8/2026).
Firman urged the public to use alternative routes during the closure. He asked the public to follow instructions and directions from officers on the ground.
“For members of the public who wish to carry out activities around the Monas area and Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, they can use alternative routes,” he said.

Jl. Budi Kemuliaan
Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan
Jl. Kebon Sirih
Jl. KH Wahid Hasyim
Jl. M. Mashabi
Jl. Imam Bonjol
Jl. Teluk Betung
Jl. Kota Bumi
Jl. Jenderal Sudirman
Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara
The following are alternative routes for the public:
Jalan Rasuna Said-Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto-Tugu Tani
Jalan K.H. Mas Mansyur-Jalan Cideng Barat-Simpang Harmoni
(From the Tomang direction) Jalan Tomang Raya-Simpang Harmoni
