Several MRT stations were reported to have experienced an electricity disruption on Thursday (9/4/2026) at 17:57 WIB. As a result, several facilities at those stations could not be used, including the lights in the station area going out. The Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Rendy Primartantyo, stated that the operational disruption was caused by a power supply issue from PLN’s side (CSW). Consequently, some station facilities, such as lighting, elevators, escalators, and several other facilities, experienced disruptions. “All elevated stations temporarily experienced a blackout condition. However, this has now been successfully normalised,” he said in his statement on Thursday. According to him, MRT Jakarta has taken quick handling and normalisation measures. They are also continuing to coordinate with relevant parties to ensure services can return to normal. “Currently, MRT field officers continue to monitor the situation and ensure services run well. Further information will be provided periodically,” Rendy said. He also expressed apologies for the issue that occurred. He assured that they will ensure the safety of MRT Jakarta passengers. “We apologise for the inconvenience; the safety of MRT Jakarta passengers remains our priority,” he said.
