Several Individuals Questioned Following KPK Sting Operation Against Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned several witnesses in the case of the sting operation (OTT) against Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro at the Pemalang Police Headquarters in Central Java.

Pemalang Police Chief AKBP Rendy Setia Permana, speaking in Pemalang on Wednesday, said the police had provided two rooms used by the KPK investigation team to conduct questioning from Tuesday (28 July) evening until Wednesday. “That’s correct. Last night our colleagues from the KPK carried out activities in Pemalang. The questioning is still ongoing in those two rooms,” he said.

According to Rendy, the police could not yet disclose the number or identities of the witnesses being questioned, as all information regarding the investigation falls under the authority of the KPK.

In addition to questioning witnesses, KPK investigators also sealed several locations suspected of being linked to the case, including the office of the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service of Pemalang Regency.

Based on ANTARA’s monitoring, the door to the department head’s office had been affixed with a KPK seal sticker, while access to the Regent’s office remained restricted, making it impossible to confirm whether any sealing had taken place at that location. The sealing was carried out as part of the investigation process to secure evidence suspected of being related to the case.
