Several DPR Members Support KontraS Proposal to Form TGPF for Andrie Yunus Case
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Several members of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) support the proposal from the Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of Violence (KontraS) for the government to form a Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) to investigate the acid attack on human rights activist Andrie Yunus.
The support was expressed during a general public hearing (RDPU) of Commission III of the DPR RI with KontraS on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
KontraS Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya assessed that the handling of the case has experienced stagnation and has not yet reached the intellectual actors behind the attack.
“Finally, we see stagnation or delays in the legal process. From the beginning, we hoped for firmness from Commission III to determine its jurisdictional forum or forum for resolving the case,” Dimas said at the DPR RI Building on Tuesday.
Therefore, KontraS firmly requests that the DPR urge Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to form a TGPF to investigate the case independently.
“We request that in this forum it is important to urge the president to issue a political decision, namely to form a TPF,” he said.
According to Dimas, the formation of the TGPF is necessary due to formal legal obstacles and political obstacles in handling the case.
