Several Demonstrations Planned in Jakarta Today
Three community groups will hold demonstrations in Jakarta on Monday, 22 June 2026. The groups are the Executive Board of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PB PMII), the Jakarta Community Alliance, and the National Coalition for Agrarian Reform (KNARA).
Each group has different demands. PB PMII is calling for a total evaluation of President Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s Red and White Cabinet. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Community Alliance is supporting the implementation of the free nutritious meals programme. KNARA is demanding the formation of a National Agrarian Reform Body (BNARA).
PB PMII
Masses from PB PMII will demonstrate at the Horse Statue in Central Jakarta on Monday afternoon, 22 June 2026. The protest, titled ‘#TotalEvaluation of the Prabowo-Gibran Red and White Cabinet’, will be held until Wednesday, 24 June 2026. ‘The action will be carried out simultaneously at approximately 300 points across Indonesia,’ read a post on the PB PMII Instagram account @pmiiofficial on Sunday, 21 June 2026.
They are demanding five things:
Uphold the mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution
Restore public trust
Strengthen national economic independence
Reshuffle and streamline the cabinet structure according to competence and authority, and reset the National Nutrition Agency (BGN)
Dissolve the Red and White Village Cooperatives and improve teacher welfare.
Jakarta Community Alliance
The Jakarta Community Alliance plans to hold a peaceful rally in the Monas area, Jakarta, on Monday, 22 June 2026. In the agenda, the masses will begin with a long march from in front of the United States Embassy to the Monas Cross Field.
Their demands are:
Support for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme
Urging the government to impose maximum penalties on corruptors of MBG funds.
KNARA
KNARA will hold actions from Riau, Jambi, Lampung, West Java, Jakarta, South Sulawesi, to South Sumatra. According to information on Instagram @knara.id, they will carry out a ‘Cast the Body and Bury the Body’ action as a form of strong protest against agrarian injustice that continues to oppress ordinary people. In Jakarta, the action will be held around Monas, Central Jakarta.
Their demands are:
Fight the greedy economics (Serakahnomics)
Uphold Pancasila
Enforce Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution
Implement the Basic Agrarian Law No. 5/1960
Form the National Agrarian Reform Body (BNARA)
