Several Areas in Jakarta Experience Power Outage, PLN Undertakes Restoration

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT PLN (Persero) has stated that it is currently restoring the electricity system after a disruption occurred in parts of Jakarta since Thursday (23/4/2026) at 10.25 WIB.

Senior Manager of Communication and Public Relations for PLN’s Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit, Haris Andika, said that the normalisation of electricity supply is being carried out gradually, both through control systems and direct handling in the field.

“Our technical teams are currently conducting intensive handling to restore the entire electricity system,” Haris said in a holding statement confirmed by Kompas.com on Thursday.

Haris emphasised that the company urges the public to remain calm and not be influenced by unaccountable information.

“At present, all personnel are on standby and striving to restore electricity supply as soon as possible,” Haris stressed.

He added that PLN will provide updates on the restoration progress periodically through the PLN Mobile application and the PLN 123 Contact Centre.

It was previously reported that netizens on the social media platform Threads were complaining about the power outage in several areas of Jakarta on Thursday (23/4/2026).

Some affected locations include Jalan Raya Sultan Agung in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, as well as the Cipinang area in East Jakarta.

In response to the situation, Senior Manager of Communication and Public Relations for PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Haris Andika, said that a supply disruption is currently affecting several areas in Jakarta.

“PLN is focused on normalisation efforts,” Haris said in a holding statement confirmed by Kompas.com on Thursday.
