President Prabowo Subianto has once again overhauled his government administration as his term approaches its second anniversary. This series of restructuring took place over two consecutive days, specifically on 1 and 2 October 2026.
On the first day, Thursday, 1 October 20cap, 18 officials were inaugurated at the State Palace in Jakarta. The changes encompass positions including coordinating ministers, ministers, deputy ministers, heads of agencies, and the top leadership of the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
One day later, Friday, 2 October 2026, Prabowo proceeded to inaugurate the leadership of the Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom RI) as well as 26 members of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres). These inaugurations continued the series of changes and strategic positioning within the government in early October 2026.
This sequence of appointments constitutes the seventh reshuffle of the Red and White Cabinet since the Prabowo administration began.
First Day: 18 Officials Inaugurated
The primary focus of the 1 October inauguration was the change in the top leadership of the Indonesian National Police. Inspector General Pol. Suyudi Ario Seto was officially inaugurated as the Chief of National Police, replacing General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
On the same occasion, Inspector General Pol. Wahyu Hadiningrat was inaugurated as the Deputy Chief of National Police, replacing Inspector General Pol. Dedi Prasetyo.
This transition marks the end of Listyo Sigit’s tenure as Chief of National Police. Following his departure from the position, Listyo has been entrusted by Prabowo to serve as the Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), replacing Dudung Abdurachman.
Prior to the inauguration, Prabowo also conferred honours upon Listyo Sigit and Dedi Prasetyo. Listyo received the Bintang Mahaputera Adipurna, while Dedi received the Bintang Mahaputera Adipradana.
Shifts in Coordinating Ministries
The reshuffle on 1 October also affected several coordinating minister positions.
Sugiono, who previously served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has been moved to lead the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, replacing Pratikno.
The position of Minister of Foreign Affairs was then filled by Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir, commonly known as Tata. Previously, Arrmanatha served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. This shift places a career diplomat in the role of Foreign Minister.
Dudung Abdurachman has also received a new assignment as the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, replacing Djamari Chaniago.
Meanwhile, Bahlil Lahadalia has been appointed as the Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition. Bahlil will continue his duties as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), effectively holding both positions temporarily.
