The Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in West Java has confirmed that seven witnesses have been questioned regarding alleged violations in the implementation of dam and badal hajj involving one of the Hajj and Umrah Guidance Groups in West Java. As of now, seven individuals have been examined, including pilgrims, the group itself, and flight group officials, said the Head of the West Java Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Regional Office, Boy Hari Novian, at Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java, on Wednesday. He explained that the ongoing process is currently limited to gathering statements and clarification on reports received concerning the execution of dam and badal hajj in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry, together with the West Java Regional Police, is seriously handling the reported alleged violations involving a group that has recently drawn public attention. We are accompanied by the West Java Regional Police in handling and clarifying the viral case relating to one of the groups in West Java, he stated. Boy explained that his office is still verifying information obtained from witnesses to ascertain the actual facts that transpired during the pilgrimage. He stressed that the previously surfaced allegations cannot yet be confirmed as the investigation is still underway. Boy added that the witnesses were separated for individual questioning upon arrival at Kertajati Airport to facilitate the clarification process. We separated them and conducted clarification or sought statements from the persons concerned and also the pilgrims themselves, he said. Furthermore, he urged all Hajj and Umrah Guidance Groups and pilgrims to abide by the provisions set by the government and not engage in practices outside the rules during the organisation of the Hajj pilgrimage. There must be no activities conducted outside the regulations because this potentially leads to consequences and sanctions according to applicable provisions, he said.
