Seven Victims of Bantargebang Waste Mound Landslide Found; SAR Operation Closed
All victims of the landslide at the Bantargebang final waste disposal site (TPST) in Bekasi, West Java, have been found by the joint SAR team.
The last victim identified, Riki Supriadi, was discovered on Monday (9 March) evening.
With this discovery, the total number of fatalities from the incident stands at seven.
“At 23:30 WIB, the joint SAR team recovered another victim identified as Riki Supriadi (male, 40 years old) who was deceased and evacuated to Polri Kramat Jati Hospital,” said Jakarta SAR Office Head Desiana Kartika in a written statement.
She explained that with all victims recovered and no reports of missing persons, the SAR operation has been declared closed.
In addition to the fatalities, six people survived the landslide that occurred on Sunday (8 March) afternoon. The landslide occurred in zone 4.
