Seven state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the logistics sector have officially merged into a single entity through the signing of a Shareholder Agreement (SHA) and a Deed of Consolidation Merger in Jakarta on Tuesday. Chairman of the PMO for the Consolidation of Logistics SOEs, Daud Joseph, stated that PT Multi Terminal Indonesia will serve as the surviving entity during the transition period. The seven logistics companies involved are Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva Multiterminal Indonesia, Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva Prima Indonesia Logistik, Pos Logistics, Pelni Logistics, PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN), PT Varia Usaha Dharma Segara (VUDS), and Krakatau Integrated Logistics. During the transition period, the merged companies will undergo integration processes covering operations, legal matters, finance, and governance before the final transaction stage. Daud further explained that the merger of the seven state-owned logistics firms is the initial step in the national logistics consolidation by Danantara Asset Management to build a more efficient and integrated logistics ecosystem in Indonesia. This aligns with the government’s vision and mission to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in the country’s logistics processes. From the SOE perspective, Danantara wants these seven companies to become one, and today that process has begun. Daud, who is also the CEO of PT Pos Indonesia, expressed hope that the unification of these seven companies will provide direct benefits so that the national logistics sector can develop more efficiently. He noted that a consolidated logistics company can possess all the necessary features, allowing a single entity to carry out various logistics functions, which will lead to more efficient pricing as it eliminates the use of multiple companies.
