Seven State-Owned Logistics Enterprises Officially Merge, Here Is the List
Seven state-owned enterprises (BUMN) operating in the logistics sector have officially merged into a single entity. This strategic move was marked by the signing of a Shareholder Agreement (SHA) and a Consolidation Merger Deed in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6). Daud Joseph, Chairman of the Steering Committee for the BUMN Logistics Consolidation PMO, revealed that during this transition process, PT Multi Terminal Indonesia has been designated as the surviving entity. The seven companies involved in this corporate merger action include: PT Pos Indonesia (Persero), PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni), PT Multi Terminal Indonesia, PT Bhanda Ghara Reksa (BGR), PT Pengerukan Indonesia, PT Varuna Tirta Prakasya, and PT Rumah Sakit Pelni. “So the name is surviving entity, or one entity that survives. So, the surviving entity that will remain is PT Multiterminal Indonesia,” said Daud. During the transition period, all these companies will undergo a comprehensive integration process. This stage includes alignment of operational, legal, financial, and corporate governance aspects before reaching the final transaction stage. Daud explained that this merger is the initial step of a national logistics consolidation initiated by Danantara Asset Management. This initiative aims to create a more integrated, efficient, and globally competitive Indonesian logistics ecosystem. “This is in accordance with the vision and mission of the government, which wants effectiveness and efficiency in the logistics processes in this country. From the BUMN side, Danantara wants these seven companies to become one, and today it has begun to be implemented,” he said. Furthermore, Daud, who also serves as President Director of PT Pos Indonesia, hopes this consolidation will have a positive impact on the national logistics sector. The unification of various company strengths into one entity is expected to strengthen services while significantly reducing operational costs. “The benefit we hope for together as a nation is that the consolidated logistics company can have all the required features, so that with just one entity it can carry out various logistics functions,” said Daud. He is optimistic that this integration will eliminate the overlapping services that have been run by many separate companies. “From there, efficiency will occur, there will be more efficient prices, because it is no longer multiple companies,” he concluded.
