Two trains undergoing repairs
KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI) Vice-President of Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda previously said that several services had been cancelled because two trainsets were still being repaired by technical teams from KAI Commuter and INKA.
“We continue to make every effort to complete repairs as quickly as possible, while adhering to safety and reliability standards before the trains return to service,” Karina said in a statement.
She said Monday was the busiest day for passenger volumes, as regular commuters and workers returned to their activities after the weekend.
Repairs completed
KAI Commuter said repairs to one CLI-225 trainset, which experienced a problem on Friday, 16 October 2026, have been completed. As a result, KAI Commuter has resumed operating 1,065 services.
“With repairs to the Commuter Line trainset complete, the number of Jabodetabek Commuter Line services has returned to normal today, Tuesday (20 October),” said KAI Commuter Vice-President of Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda.
The trainset’s return is intended to meet demand and restore carrying capacity on the Bogor route to 392 services, following the earlier adjustments.
Karina added that before the Commuter Line trainset returned to service, KAI Commuter’s technical team and INKA conducted dynamic testing to ensure that safety, security and operational systems met the established standards.
The average weekday passenger volume on the Bogor route in October is 480,395 people a day. Bogor Station has the highest volume, at 50,262 passengers a day, while Citayam Station averages 35,434 and Bojonggede Station 31,162.
KAI Commuter again apologised for the cancellation of seven Bogor Commuter Line services yesterday, which affected passenger comfort, particularly during the morning rush hour. It urged passengers to prioritise safety and follow instructions from staff at stations and on trains.
